Oh no, I haven’t forgotten SuSe. But it’s not an OG distro. It’s based off of Red Hat. Though I thought it was always a better version of Mandrake than Mandrake ever was. (I wonder what TexStar is doing these days…)
I’ve installed and used it several times over the years and thought it was a fine distro. I have never understood why it’s not more to the forefront with it’s rolling release. If you like RPM based distros, SuSe is one to check out for sure.

First she’s going to pick up some new fans that will buy her music, plus the publicity also has monetary value to her. And secondly, because she donated the proceeds of the sale of the car to NPR, she gets to write off the donation from her taxes to benefit financially yet again. Nor does she need to worry about someone vandalizing her property, which would cost her money to repair.
Just another profitable day for a person with a $70 million net worth.

Still, those early adopters weren’t the people making $45,000 a year. It’s not like they can/could afford a new $60,000 car. Anybody buying a Tesla is solidly upper middle class. And often are DINO’s politically. And they can live comfortably if they aren’t too busy trying to maintain an image.

If you want to name them all, Red Hat, Debian, and Slackware where the OG popular distros that became the foundations of all the distros we have today. I ran them all back then.

You mirror my travels through the Linux distros. Red Hat and Mandrake, Slack, Debian, Ubuntu, Gentoo, Suse, even Mint and now Fedora yet again. I’ve never bothered with setting up a server though, I just don’t have the need or desire.
And as repeatedly told and retold every year…
And I’m using, let’s see, (Goes into Settings to check): Fedora KDE Plasma 41. Meh, it works OK I guess. It’s getting hard to tell the difference between distros anymore. And I’ve been doing this long enough that I just something that doesn’t bother me for attention anymore.

And anytime you prescribe a drug, you are starting a trial. Because you really don’t know how it will do to that one patient. Experience may tell you that it should do what you expect it to do, (because it almost always does). But it could only partially work or do nothing, or have varying side affects, or even kill you patient.

I have been elected to a city council several times and have gone over police budgets and it was no easier for the police to get money replace a squad car or get any of the “goodies” you think are so easy to them to get. There is only so much money to be had in any city budget.
Let me introduce you to ‘We ain’t got no money to buy anything’ trick.

You act like you don’t understand police departments need grants to buy those things also.
That’s unlikely. You need to get grants from the federal government, chiefly the DHS, to get money to buy major equipment. There ain’t anymore federal grants remember. Small volunteer, (70% of all fire depts in the US), services are especially reliant on those grants to replace major assets.
Source: Been on committees to spec and buy ambulances and fire trucks and turnout gear. Even boots and gloves sometimes.

I absolutely detest text messaging or emails. You have a problem? Call me because I can probably solve your issue in one minute of phone call. I have been almost always been subjected to texting sessions that lasted for several hours because the dumbass on the other end lacked the spelling and vocab skills to provide an accurate written description of the problem.
Time is money and even sometimes life threatening unless the fastest method of communication is use. And fastest ain’t an email or text.
Don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say three point five" HDDS or read it in the decimal form-- Three and 5 tenths. It’s always said as the fractional form-- 3 1/2".
I think they mark them as 3.5" because it’s easier to typeset a decimal than fractions. Even those accursed 3 1/2" floppys seem to be marked 3.5" these days.
The classes I seen do have places to show terrain and even for new people to find mushrooms. But individuals, well we don’t have places for such things. I just have places were I know I can find mushrooms on a good day. And that’s it.
It would be impossible for your friend to create all the proper conditions for many mushrooms to grow in his backyard.
