I switched over to TickTick when Todoist suddenly changed their pricing model a few years ago. I don’t remember the specifics of what happened but I remember being very frustrated with the sudden changes as it would’ve required me to change my whole system.
I’ve been very happy with TickTick since then and would strongly recommend OP checks it out to see if it fits their needs.

For self hosting I’d recommend either one of the Meshify 2 or Define 7, depending on local price and your specific needs. I personally went with the Meshify 2 XL and was blown away by the quality of the case. It’s built well and allows for a variety of configurations. It also makes maintenance very easy as the filters and side panels can all be removed without any tool to handle dust build up.
Seconding the recommendation for FreshRSS, it’s the one I ended up hosting when I looked into this a while back and it’s been really great. Takes a minute to get everything setup, especially if you want to have different settings for different types of feeds, but once it’s all set it’s perfect (for my needs at least).
I’ve also got it setup with my domain so I can access the feed from anywhere and that’s been one of my favourite features.
Reddit was such a different website back then, it’s crazy to look back on compared to what it is now.

I use it occasionally to try out games on gamepass that I’m not sure I’ll enjoy. I’ll usually play for about 30 minutes to an hour and then decide if I want to install it or just play something else.
I also occasionally use it on my steamdeck but that’s even less often.
Thanks for all your work LJ, it’s clear the value we get from having you be able to dedicate so much time to working on Sync. Love seeing so much improvement to an already great app.

Edit: now that the update has shown up on my end and I’ve tried the new features, I’d like to add that I slightly misunderstood what the PipedLinkBot would do, any chance we could have an option for those comments to be collapsed by default instead of hidden?
Not sure what you mean about no autofill on android, it definitely pops up on login fields for me and quickly lets me login with biometrics and then gives me my account. I only ever need to open up the app when I need to force it to sync if I’d just added a login on a different device and it hasn’t synced yet.
Just fyi, M. in French is only equivalent to Mr, it’s short for Monsieur. Mme (short for Madame) is equivalent to Mrs, and Mlle (short for Mademoiselle) is equivalent to Miss/Ms.
So using M. for everyone is equivalent to saying Mr. for everyone.

At least in NA, it’s either through Nestle facilities or via community recycling facilities. Each order comes with bags for either mail-in (red bags), recycling bin (green bags), or store drop off (I believe black bags).

Nobody is forcing you to use Sync, or even to pay for any of the subscriptions/one-time purchases.

It’s clearly someone sharing their hobby/job with their niece, and what better way to do that than by including them in a practical aspect. It also literally says they “helped her as she’s 4 years old”.
You commenting is only bringing more attention to the post by increasing the comment count so maybe reevaluate your approach in the future if you’re so against wholesome content.
Adding to that, LJ is also aiming to work on this app full-time so I think that greatly impacted his calculation on what the price points should be. Imo the prices are quite reasonable for what is my most used app outside of messaging/emails.

Personally I’m the opposite. I only have so much control over my environment in the office, but at home I’m able to build an environment that’s way more productive for my brain. I’ll still go into the office as required (usually about a day every week or two) but I literally have to plan my workload around those days since I know I’ll be way less productive.
That’s good to know, I never kept up with the issue since I wasn’t impacted when it would occur. I just remember seeing it come up every now and then.

It also provides text recognition in images, translation in-app, (both requiring constant server work) and will eventually support push notifications (again requiring server work). On top of that, LJ has stated he wants to work on this app full-time, which is only possible if he earns a living from it.
If those features aren’t interesting to a user, there’s always the one-time ad removal option (I’ll admit which is a bit pricey but per OP’s post, is a one time fee and not a subscription).
