They should probably try to fix the issues that caused the population to vote for him.
It never about “fixing” or “killing” individuals, but about systems that do not work for some people.

Trumps administration will likely start out with a lot of power hungry egomaniac freaks, and then with its very high turnover, trump loyalists will be filtered through, like they did in their first term.
Competence doesn’t really matter.
I have nothing against any meta search engine, they are very useful, and I use them primarily as well.
However, they are not a true alternative, because they depend on third-party services. The same as Invidious is a very useful, but also not an alternative to YouTube itself, just a different user interface.
Which other trustworthy search engines are there? And I don’t mean some different frontend or a meta search engine like ddg, sp, kagi, searx(ng), etc… that mostly just use googles, bings or even yandex and beidu results?
Ages ago I configured and hosted yacy for myself, but that was a different time… Are there any real alternatives? With mayor internet companies like cloudflare, social media sites and many others restricting the access to the net and information, searching becomes more and more impossible if you aren’t a huge corporation…
I would like to trust doctors more, however they often offer stuff like homeopathic treatments or over prescribe medications, where I am wondering if they are just payed to do so by the pharma industry.
IMO the financial incentives of doctors sort of run counter with offering the best treatment of patients, which then in turn destroys the trust in them.
Again capitalism ruins everything.
It contains only code, no assets or textures.
If you every played XCOM, you would know that 85% chance to hit is rather low.
Or about the chance of not rolling a 1 on a d6. And I have rolled too many ones in DnD and that was on d20s.
The question is who is the other Democrat candidate? I have the impression that putting fourth a popular candidate goes against everything the DNC stands for.
If you want a tolerant society, you cannot tolerate the intolerant.
If you want democracy, you must suppress anti-democratic ideas.
You have to fight for want you believe in, and not let antithetical ideas fester and subvert yours, just because they exploit your tolerance and use the space you give them to fight it.
The ordinary Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu and there is also LMDE, which is Linux Mint based on Debian: https://www.linuxmint.com/download_lmde.php
Snap is just one case where Ubuntu is annoying.
It is also a commercial distribution. If you ever used a community distribution like Arch, Gentoo or even Debian, then you will notice that they much more encourage participation. You can contribute your ideas and work without requiring to sign any CLAs.
Because Ubuntu wants to control/own parts of the system, they tend to, rather then contributing to existing solutions, create their own, often subpar, software, that requires CLAs. See upstart vs openrc or later systemd, Mir vs Wayland, which they both later adopted anyway, Unity vs Gnome, snap vs flatpak, microk8 vs k3s, bazar vs git or mercurial, … The NIH syndrom is pretty strong in Ubuntu. And even if Ubuntu came first with some of these solutions, the community had to create the alternative because they where controlling it.
I mod my games on my PC and sync it to my SteamDeck. I also sync the save files back and fourth, to continue playing on different devices. Mostly non-steam games.
I also sync my eBook collection to my eink reader with syncthing.
Everything is also mirrored to my always-on NAS, so syncing always works.
Linux Mint Debian Edition or Ubuntu Edition?
It seems to me that this is the one political position the author has: “America bad.” And everything follows from there. Russia invades Ukraine: Actually it’s America’s fault, because NATO expansion is violating non-existent treaties. Israel bombs Gaza and does the crimes against humanities: Actually it’s America’s fault, because Israel is just imitating America.
This seems like the usual “what aboutism” from Russian or Chinese propaganda.
What Israel did is really really bad, but America didn’t force them to do it. And America’s response of unconditional support is also bad, but they generally didn’t want this conflict, because it’s not useful to their agenda.
America does enough bad stuff, no need to invent more.
Well, where I live automatic transmission is an extra feature that you pay extra for. And I thought that automatic transmission allows you generally to accelerate faster, because you can have much more gears and gear switching is faster as well. So to me that seems like a sport feature.
If that is what it takes for people to demand and use more public transportation, then I am loving it.
(I live near a city and don’t need to own a car. I only ever drove manual in the past, and also got stuck in a traffic jam occasionally. IMO it wasn’t that difficult to stop and go, but it depends on your car. I had more issues with a rented big transporter, that required to release the clutch while steping on the gas. But that is just practice.
I remember driving a automatic transmission car once for 10 minutes or so, and it was very stressful, because it behaved so different.)
When you buy “wood screws” that doesn’t mean that the screws are made of wood, it means they go into wood.
What I really like is that they double down on hackabilty by switching to metal torx screws, etc.
That, and a Linux system are IMO the main selling points of the SteamDeck, compared to any clones from Asus or Lenovo, etc.
I am currently playing a heavily modded version of Mass Effect Legendary Edition on my SteamDeck, works really well, even Mass Effect 3.
But I had to install a no-EA-link patch, because EA requires to be online to start the singleplayer game. Which hurts playing it on the go. But with that, great experience.
Is the backside of a portal transparent? I thought it might connect to the backside of the other portal…
