Nice, that looks legit.
Nice, that looks legit.
At least in most US cities, it’s also illegal to sleep in your car.
I have a PR out for this now. Keep in mind that we’re usually too busy developing to keep up with a lot of these posts, so its always better to create an issue for feature requests / bugs.
You can create an issue for this on the joinlemmy-site repo.
I read through the whole list, and monero was the only decent privacy recomendation I could find. Everything else was US-hosted. A lot of it was just recommendations from Apple and Google on “privacy” services they offer.
No mention of syncthing, matrix, xmpp, even with sections dedicated to those categories.
Yes, I believe all the messages are in plain text, and it’s up to the server not to log it.
It is possible to e2ee the message content yourself tho.
Edit: it looks like ntfy.sh specifically keeps messages cached in memory for a few hours befor discarding them. https://docs.ntfy.sh/config/
I would never. The idea that any person should be disbarred from contributing to FOSS due to the actions of their government, is incredibly exclusionary. Linus is acting as much like a toddler as daddy USA is.
I’ve had to adopt a two strikes policy towards these aggressive trolls, who treat you like your their personal servant, especially since they make up like <1% of ppl on issue trackers. After a warning, if they don’t play nice, then they’re out.
It’s the only way to keep the coding experience enjoyable, and not suffer from burnout.
I really wish obsidian was open source.
Thx for this, I took care of em. Keep reporting these scammers in the future and we’ll get to it as soon as we can.
Your entire post history is just defending facebook.
Yall remember that time Facebook did an internal study of the massive psychological harm it and instagram was causing teen girls, then kept it secret and did nothing about it?
Izzyondroid takes a day at most, so it’s the preferred way.
I recommend just using izzyondroid, it’s much faster.
f-droid takes a week. Izzy takes a day.
We need to document this somewhere, but currently you can run two lemmy docker processes, one with this entrypoint:
entrypoint: lemmy_server --disable-activity-sending
And one you can call lemmy-federation
with this:
entrypoint: lemmy_server --disable-http-server --disable-scheduled-tasks
That’s totally optional tho.
Was just gonna say this. Run discord and slack, and you’re all set.
Your word against theirs, and they can easily say they saw something suspicious. That’s how it works with every stop and search.
