I would love to see more Japanese moving over to Bluesky. I’ve effectively moved there, but can’t really leave Twitter because I follow a lot of Japanese game devs there, and they don’t have a strong reason to leave like Americans do.
And you don’t have one asshole owner boosting visibility of his own posts and those of accounts he likes, and lowering visibility/shadowbanning those of people he doesn’t. The “For You” feed tends to have not stuff you actually enjoy, but things that make you angry.

Color me old and decrepit but why use 2 new terms when the language already has 2 terms that seem fine, Latina and Latino? Is this something akin to negro -> African American -> Black? I can kind of get Americans feeling that Latinx is more gender neutral, but Latine seems very redundant.

Part of the problem is that you can have a state consisting of 300 neckbeards and it will still have Senators and a Representative in Congress, and thus voting power on legislation. I don’t blame people for fleeing, but staying and making states blue will have a bigger effect on change.
Every night ! I listen to a sleep podcast. I recently changed to a phone without a 3.5mm jack and was kinda scrambling to figure out an alternative. I had a splitter for power and headphones, but it didn’t work the way I thought it should: I was used to unplugging the headphones from the phone and that would automatically pause the audio, and plugging in would resume. For some reason (perhaps cheapness) the splitter reported the headphones as present whether or not headphones were actually connected. I ended up getting a BT dongle which has a pause button and I can just take it with when I step away from the phone.
Yes, that’s actually exactly what I ended up buying. It’s got a pause/play button, so I hit that and take the whole thing with me.
That means the charging cable also needs to be unplugged if I want to step away. Thanks for the info about it not being normal, I guess I just got a POS splitter.
