I actually have grayjay on my phone (and paid for it). I don’t mind paying for stuff I use.
I’ve also used revances, and smarttube tv. But as I said right now the value is still “ok” but reaching it’s limit for sure.

Up to 6 users as it is a family plan but ya it’s pricey
Welcome to the club, I was on the $14.99 Family Premium from YT Red/GPM. I left in a fit to Spotify, but crawled back since I just do not get along with Spotify. It was quite an increase to $22.99, but I literally watch YT as my main source of entertainment, and listen to YT music via Android Auto in my car, as well as through the house all the time. So I am getting a lot of use out of it. but I am not sure I could stomach another increase anytime soon.
I stopped using it years ago, however during ironically a month or so ago, going through my password manager, visiting sites I no longer use, to clean up my accounts evernote got chopped.
I’m sure most will scow at me, but I use google’s keep for personal stuff, and ms one note for work these days.
There are multiple ways to do geothermal. We have 2 I believe 150ft closed loops that live around 6’ under the yard. They also have vertical bore loops that go straight down which require way less land. Lastly is open loop, which would be a set of lines that run to a pond, or i guess any body of water to do that heat exchanging.
Can you get a single heat pump system that does both?
We have a geothermal heat pump that we put in when we built our house. It uses water (closed loops) to exchange heat/cold instead of air. But that unit also has a desuperheater that does supplement hot water. The ideal setup is to have a non-powered water heater that is warmed by the output of the desuperheater, that feeds a powered water heater. This creates a situation where the water entering the powered water heater is already pretty warm requiring less work for it.
unfortunately, my knowledge at the time wasn’t where it is today, and our installer was also not well versed. So we just have a single water heater, but it is plumbed into the desuperheater at least. Ours just cycles water through the desuperheater into the powered tank. Probably still helps some but I suspect not as much.
It supports earbuds from watching a random YT video about it that popped up on my feed from the creators

Nextcloud docker on unRAID has worked well for me on…
Android, Windows and my MacBook(s)
I use it to Auto upload photos from my phone as well as cloud storage. Shared directories with my wife and son for easy sharing.
No real issues outside a couple painful upgrades in the past .
It has seemed to work on less and less sites for me recently, to the point that I do not visited it as often as I used to.
But that tweet does sound like pretty bad news…
While I do get it, they shouldn’t need those sponsors if I’m paying to watch their videos. If YT is injecting ads to pay them.
It’s two sources of ads for the viewer, who can only pay to remove one of them
It’s a shitty model for everyone.
There was some original content, there is offline play, ad removal, however they should allow premium to skip sponsor ads too if you ask me.
I thought it was a decent deal for $15/mo for family of 3 using it for music and yt. $23 is pushing it.
worth checking out https://grayjay.app/. It’s new, but comes from Futo/Louis Rossman. It’s in alpha/beta right now but the concept is pretty neat. Think of it as the Pigeon/Trillian of instant messengers. (do need android I believe)
I pay for YT premium, but downloaded GrayJay yesterday. one thing I noticed is even when signed into YT, and having the plug-in slider checked to report usage my History is not getting updated.
I primarily watch YT so I actually don’t mind paying for it. YTM is also my primary streaming music, but I like what Louis and Futo are doing. I also installed their voice app which works damn good. The only downside is I haven’t found a good privacy aware foss keyboard that is ‘ok’ and has swipe typing. I swipe enough that it’s annoying. (gboard won’t allow you to switch to a different voice-text app)
I’ve been around since YT red, and while Google Play Music was a better app, I am OK with YT music and primarily watch YT over the other sites and yt music is all I listen to in the house or car. So, while not cheap $22/mo for premium family fits my needs.
I’d be OK if yt allowed me to skip/blocked sponsored ads too. At least on PC sponsor block works well. For my TV its a few more hoops to get that there, which I haven’t done. Not terrible to ffw across them
Like charging a fee?
Finally, the table shows inflation-adjusted changes in the stock market, as measured by the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 Index.
That makes it $12.5k/yr ish which looks a lot more reasonable.
I’ll agree with being very surprised if the average non-supervisor worker salary was $56,680 in 1978. Running that number in a couple pages comparing what that is in today’s dollars is over $250k
I left Strava when they adjusted their ‘freemium’ model and hid a number of things behind a paywall. Now I just use Garmin Connect, for tracking my stuff and an ‘athletic’ social circle of friends via connections/news feed.
