You clearly don’t know about the state of seizure laws in the US over the last years. Having cash is reason enough for them to seize it and they don’t have to suspect you of a crime. They can simply find the cash as suspicious and take it and you have to prove the legality of your cash or property at your own cost/expense to get it back.

My response to never forget is I’ll never forget the freedom they took.

Unless they have reasonable articulable suspicion that you committed a crime or are about to, you don’t need to give them information. Bear in mind, if you’re pulled over they can pretty much manufacture a crime, there are so many traffic laws on the books. So you should show ID if you’re a driver pretty much always. And your ID has your address so you shouldn’t have to answer questions, generally better not to. But being a dick to them might solicit retaliation. Always record the police.
