As long as you’re all sorted, even though I’m not quite sure why you couldn’t log into Sync with your existing instance credentials…but anyway you’re good now, thats the main thing 👍🏻
I either miss the boat or jump the gun 🤷🏻♀️

I was just scrolling on by, & even though I use a different app, or apps, your initial post was more of a general question, so I thought I’d drop in…😬 Surprised you had to change to a different instance in order to use sync …🤷🏻♂️
I don’t use Sync, but if it has access to your account settings, as many apps do, then you could change this from within the app…
As its an account setting, then yes it’s effect is global.
The option of whether to show bots or not, is’nt app specific, its in your Lemmy account settings.
Strange, considering that Summit is one of the most actively developing apps, its inclusion should have been a no brainer…🤷🏻♂️
Oh that’s dark 🤣🤣
Still using an S10e, & getting around 7-8 hrs SOT, great phone, perfect size, good cameras & screen, with the bonus of SD card support & a headphone jack…
Thank you 🙌🏼, working like a charm now…👍🏼
Same, no matter what selections I make in the custom settings, none are accepted or evident…🤷🏻♂️
Same with a few adjustments …
Yes they are primarily Mastondon apps, but they work very well with Pixelfed, very similar looking to the proprietary app…
Thanks for looking into it 👍🏻
BTW, Really liking the multicommunities option, it’s really handy for grouping similar communities across different instances…
You could try either Moshidon or Megalodon, both of which work well with Pixelfed & available on the Playstore…
I’ve just tried it again after clearing the cache within the app, and also from the app info, & now the comments sort maintains the sort option selected (New), & Post sort reverts to display Default within the settings, after selecting New. As my account setting sort default is New anyway, I’m guessing that could be the reason?..it is sorting as I’d expect… Sorry if I’ve sent you down a rabbit hole…😬
Something I just noticed, when changing the default sort for either posts or comments, in the settings, they revert to say default on returning to those settings… As I have already set the post sort to New in the Lemmy account settings, this is maintained, however the comment sort does not… not sure if this makes any sense now I’ve read it back 😅
Why isn’t the focus aimed at creating more communities over here, that actually add to engagement & interaction…if I want to see what’s happening over there, I’ll go and take a look… I’m one of those that has bots blocked anyway, so makes little difference to me really…
Twitter being slowly flushed down the pan, closely followed reddit…🚽
Entertainment whilst waiting for the damn thing to charge 🤷🏻♂️
