Yep.
I have tried on my phone and Mac, and I can’t submit anything. Even for other locations.

I took one of the free CS50 classes (among others) on EdX years and years ago, and honestly it helped get me into the business and into the job I have now.
It’s fun to joke I took a MIT class for free. But it honestly helped me learn some logic and enough stuff to get me going.
I’m also a Jasmine Crockett from Texas fan.
My 1070 still plays Final Fantasy XIV just fine, so I think I keep my $3,400, thanks.
Yeah, this one guy has been trying to jumpstart so many projects. And that’s admirable, but it’s also too much for one dude (and I know he’s tried to get some other people, but there has been drama around that - by him, I think).
But more to your point - something feels a little off even though I can’t confirm anything. It does feel like this guy might just take some money and run if given the chance.
And I don’t necessarily blame him for that - I probably would too. I don’t want to work, and if I had money I wouldn’t.
But there’s just this feeling I can’t shake about all of it. And I have a Pixelfed and a Loops account. They are both fine, so we’ll see, I guess. But I wouldn’t be surprised if I end back up with Mastodon being my sole social place for sharing photos, for example.
'It didn’t work the first time we tried to launch a streaming service. But THIS time…"
The people there seem pretty chill in my experience so far.
Hopefully this money will allow that ONE DUDE to get some help in managing these apps. I know he has maybe a couple of collaborators now, but maybe they can get some more dedicated people to build out the apps. It’s a lot for one or two people to try and spin up two apps at once.
The Pixelfed app that dropped last week, for example, doesn’t even have a button to view the global feed. It’s better to just use the main website of whatever server you are on right now, even on your mobile device.
We don’t care about professional coders any more. You know, the people making all these “breakthroughs” we are so happy about.
I definitely care about the opinions of CEOs because it directly lets me know which companies to support or not.
If a CEO is a trash, then I don’t want to give them my money. Simple capitalism, that.
I wish there was an easy way to know which servers are getting hammered more than others.
I can easily make a post to my server via the website, but the app was giving me trouble, as an example. That’s why I wonder where the hiccup is/was. Both the website and app are just interfaces to get data to a server, so if one doesn’t work I’d assume the other doesn’t too. But I dunno.
Edit: After writing this I went back and tried posting from the app again. It finally worked! I guess things have settled down.
I have a Pixelfed account and have tried the app.
But I can’t actually make posts using it. Don’t know where the hiccup is.
AMD now has “Max” chips and Dell now has “Pro” and “Max” laptops.
Everyone copying Apple.
“…whenever we have 8K TVs and content.”
The TVs exist, but there won’t be content for years and years. Companies barely stream usable 4K right now.
Every car company has a financial incentive to, every year, say it’s a “couple years off” to keep investors intrigued.
Back when we all were a little hoodwinked by elon and didn’t know he was a complete, lying asshole, he said around 2014 or so it’d take just a couple of years. Then another couple. Then another couple.
I don’t really have faith it’ll ever be there in our lifetimes in a way that’s I’d trust.
I mean, he will on an alt.
Great, new format wars. This time with expensive speaker setups!
“You’re doo-doo-ing wrong.”
Art design will always trump straight up graphical wizbangs anyway. There’s a reason Tears of the Kingdom is gorgeous and impressive over here running on a potato versus a lot of games that need more horsepower to run.
I remember when I learned all the gospels were written decades after the “fact.”
I can’t remember what I ate for lunch yesterday, and we are supposed to believe people played a game of telephone for a few decades and got everything correct when writing it down?
Sure, Jan.
