Second for Ubuntu. I’ve never felt a need to switch.
Then you have very little to worry about imo.
Casio fx-991ES
Automatically puts answers in fractions, but has a button to switch between the two as well. Can also have fractional input. Not sure what model is current though, this one is pretty old.
Microsoft asserts that the 7 TB storage per glass sheet maintains data integrity for 10,000 years.
Imagine people 10,000 years from now finding a 7tb homework folder of high resolution ponies.
Cool! That was my concern. A cursory search shown a lot of driver issues for macs, albeit some were rather old.
Also NoScript!
I use NoScript to block every script from google except for ytimg and youtube and I haven’t seen anything like that; though, I do only watch 1-2 videos at a time, maybe I haven’t ‘triggered’ it.
I can even disable origin and still not see any ads because NoScript blocks them from loading in the first place.
Perhaps Arch Linux? Maybe a bit too much for a toe dip though, I wouldn’t know. You’ll likely run into driver issues (wifi, audio and apple specific hardware) and Arch ostensibly has the latest drivers. Will happily be corrected though, I’ve been languishing on Ubuntu and haven’t had to fix anything in years.

Did you know that av1 is my favourite video format? Me neither!
I prefer .mkv for videos because I’m a degenerate weeb and .mkv can have subtitles baked into them.
Shill posts, shill posts everywhere.

With the current system, anyone with physical access to your Hue bridge can take it over just by pressing the button.
If a bad actor has access to your home, I doubt light bulbs will be your main concern…
Same, though I did try to chroot. Totally failed though. Luckily I had backups, which I learned never backed up properly.
The lessons I learned were to never trust a GUI and always make sure your backups are viable. I still have a copy of a duplicity backup form ~2020 that I hope one day to recover, if anythings in it.
Now I don’t want to move my cursor
Thanks!!
I wish they were already available in Canada.
