I wonder what it would take for Biden to act. The actual bombing and killing isn’t enough. Are these statements by Israeli leadership what it will take? I don’t really understand what is behind Biden’s support at this point.

Some tidbits from the article:
A ‘pre-series Taycan’ lapped the ring in just 7:07.55. This makes it the fastest electric Porsche to ever turn a wheel in anger around the legendary track. It has also buried the Tesla Model S Plaid’s previous record-holding 7:25.231 time by 17.681 seconds.
The new top-dog Taycan’s time is 26 seconds faster than the current Taycan Turbo S, and within spitting distance of the Rimac Nevera’s time of 7:05.298. The Porsche did receive minor modifications to make it safer and more trackable. Racing bucket seats and a roll cage were installed.
It’s unclear if a new battery has been installed in this trim, but a change in cell chemistry or design to better support long bursts of high current would be necessary if the Taycan Turbo S’ pack isn’t cutting it.
[Due to the long stretches that put extreme stress on the batteries] The equally significant part of this record is its repeatability. Porsche says its development driver Lars Kern clocked several laps, all of them almost exactly the same time.
Yeah, it’s probably mutual.
Best wishes for the new year.
After he was first elected, I thought he had two choices, he could choose to hold on to power despite constitutional limits, or he could mentor new leadership that would carry on his plan after he left. In the end, he wanted to keep the power.
Trump was the same way - fuck the constitution, I’ll do what I want.
If he wanted to change the constitution, go for it, let him do it. He didn’t, so he needs to follow the rule of law.
I really did support him and again, he did great things. As I said before, he had the opportunity to become a global leader. That was my hope for him. Unfortunately, he wanted to keep his power in Bolivia and he lost my respect for that.
I’m somewhat close. It was the strongest earthquake I’ve been in. Fortunately no damage to the house or anything, just some things that fell off the shelves. Hopefully we won’t get any Tsunamis.
I was very supportive of Morales winning the presidency and I know he made some very positive changes (at least during his first term, I don’t know about the rest). I was really disappointed when he tried to keep control. He could have gone on to unite the left in the Americas, but instead he focused on keeping power in Bolivia.
I’m glad the court ruled the way they did. No country needs leaders that do whatever it takes to stay in power. Term limits are necessary for good democracy.
In a thread defending a country committing genocide, I guess it might be difficult for some people to understand the kind of principles it takes to leave a country that commits war crimes around the world.
But you do you.
Those were my actions against the US government during the Iraq/Afghanistan wars. Seems reasonable to me.
If you pay taxes to the Israeli government, you’re complicit in the genocide.
If you don’t speak out/protest, you’re complicit.
If you vote for the current government or don’t vote for an alternative, you’re complicit.
By Israel, I mean anyone who doesn’t fight against the apartheid state.
Wow, you hit a nerve. I wonder why IDF propaganda is trying to bury this comment so much.
I wonder at what point Israel will realize that an apartheid state will always produce this kind of violence. I’ve written this in other comments, but it seems like Israel is happy to exist with this violence for the possibility of getting all the Palestinian lands after the genocide is finished.
Israel was slowly destroying the Palestinian people and culture long before Hamas and will probably continue after Hamas. Hamas logic is probably to go down fighting rather than accepting their own people’s destruction submissively.
We are arming Ukraine to protect themselves from genocide. Maybe eventually some governments will take the same stance with Palestine.
Since the Hamas-led October 7 attack, Israeli authorities have conducted a major crackdown on freedom of expression, usually in relation to social media posts. Dozens of Palestinian citizens of Israel and residents of Jerusalem have been arrested for voicing opposition to the war, while Israel’s academic institutions have suspended and dismissed students and faculty members alike for similar offenses. The Knesset also voted to amend Israel’s Counterterrorism Law, enabling unprecedented surveillance against Palestinians.
Jailing people for speaking out against the war? Sounds like Russia. I think Genocide Joe has backed the wrong side in the conflict.
There was an American woman a few years ago who was bulldozed to death. Does anyone remember her name?
Would it be difficult for apps to do it automatically? Just have a constant backup hosted on your phone or cloud account?
I bought a Synology that I keep at my in-laws, then use Syncthing to keep my pictures backed up. I just started, so I don’t know how it will go long term.
If anyone else has a better option than Syncthing for Linux to Synology, I would love to hear it.
