That’s some pretty strong evidence that it’s a Sync problem, or at least more likely than a lemm.ee problem - although it seems like you’re not alone in having those problems there… I hope it gets worked out for you soon :-\
I am definitely a llama.

Have you tried loading the same things on the web ui? That would be my first suggestion, to help you see if it’s Sync or Lemm.ee. That’s what I would do, anyhow.
Maybe someone else has an actual answer for you, but until then, maybe you can test .
The first line says support for Lemmy 0.19, which is probably why they asked if you read it
Yeah, but the update on Nov 29 was to address the breaking change: logging in works differently for 0.19, and all of the update notes can be found here (which is the thing they asked if you read)
Damn, I was hoping it’d be something easy that my basic knowledge could help with … Sorry man. ¯\_ (ツ) _/¯
Have you changed views from Profile to Saved? There’s a drop-down that can be switched. That’s the only thing I can think of.
Oh, good! At least there’s some way around the problem ^(which hopefully won’t be much of a problem for long)
My upvotes (in Sync) are the orangered and I can’t seem to find a place to change it… :(
Hah, I do not have it enabled and will heed your warning. Thanks :-P Hope that’s a thing that gets addressed soon, for you guys!
Doesn’t look like it. Go for it! (Sync doesn’t crash for me, or I’d take care of it)
I’m also very happy with Sync - a few QoL things I think would be good to fix/add, but I can deal with those.
The problem with Sync not getting updated for the new Lemmy 0.19 is that people on instances that update their Lemmy server to 0.19 can’t seem to be able to log in with Sync because there’s a change to how logging in works.
If you don’t want to see any posts from any bots, the current easiest way is to use the web to go to your account settings and turn off the thing that says “show bots”.
I don’t disagree that it would be a nice addition, but that’s what we can do in the meantime. Unless you want to just block each of them like they are a normal user, I guess. I find value in some of the bots, so I allow showing bots and just block the ones I don’t like.
it won’t mute YouTube though, right?
Aw, snap, I thought it did. My bad. I probably just have gotten really quick at hitting the back button.
Also I have type indicators enabled but it’s not that visible
That is true, in my experience as well. I wonder if it’s that hard to tell in all the view styles… Sorry man, like I said - bandaid at best, but maybe not even that useful…
I thought the same about seagulls - dumb bird, you don’t live anywhere near the sea… I actually would call them “parking lot gulls”
At least titmice have the decency to be cute!
That’s why I keep this setting on: Settings shortcut: Media > Mute when opening
It’s not the best solution, but I really hate when I don’t notice I’m tapping on a video. Even when I keep the post-type displayed: Settings shortcut: View type > Type indicators
Edited to add: It’s a bandaid at best until it does get implemented.
There was a lot of chatter about this on this other post from a month or so ago, but I don’t remember any specific outcome: https://lemmy.world/post/5730713
Tufted titmice are among my favorite birds - and not just because I get to say “tit” in polite company… Also cockatoos and cockatiels.
I dunno, I can upload as normal.
