I’m an America who has never been to Canada, but I’ll weigh in with this:
Every single [edit - Master Craft] Canadian Tire tool I’ve ever come across or owed has a swingin’ pair. My 1000w inverter has been in a saltwater environment for 7 years and is still killing it weekly, as well as my CT cordless drill.

I’m on a 5yrld Mango travel router right now. The selling points to me were the power requirements and OpenWRT. It’s my main access / media sharing device on my sailboat. Love it.

Marinix. It’s aimed at mariners & sailors. Small and fast but not full featured and it uses a weird kernel implementation. It does however have customized Muplex which I ripped off for the next dristro which I love :
Navigatrix - OpenCPN, zyGrib. SSB / HAM control, tidal info, radar and AIS overlay. RTL-SDR AIS, PACTOR 2 soft modrm, and so much more. It runs my main navigation computer

Buy an old Dell mid tower i5, put 16g RAM into it and 4 HDDs, a 16g USB thumb drive, and run Free / True NAS. I ran one for 8 years problem free other than upgrading the drives after 2 failed in the same year. $100 minus drives.
