5 days agoStaying cancelled is a mine field, if you choose to continue shopping on Amazon but not to have Prime. Every single screen has some kind of nag, dark pattern, or outright deceptive path for you to one-click back into it.

ATV is the only box I recommend. I’m anti-Google, don’t trust Amazon (and now their service is going to do ads on a paid Prime membership), and Roku has major privacy issues at least in the past. Curious why you’re seeking an alternative to Apple.
I’m happy to see the rule change to be world-inclusive now. I do hope there is a way to tag/flair posts to show geography, though, or it’ll end up having people assume US-first.

He’s a senior citizen, that is such a weak grab for pity.
The amount of screens in that is a hard nope for me. If A/C and radio/volume aren’t tactile buttons/knobs, that’s a deal breaker.
I’m not an opponent of fines, I just think they have no deterrence other than getting caught. Negligence at this level of public harm needs to carry jail time for the executives responsible for it.
They are, that won’t stop them going higher.
So fines come with a requirement that a company can’t raise prices to recoup them?
In the real world, fines are a cost carried to the customer. So even with GDPR, the customer is still the loser in the situation.
I mean, technically, Oppenheimer’s was first launched on US soil…

It just means the punishment is money, not jail. That’s what it really means. Companies can kill people with negligence and pay money. People that kill people with negligence go to jail. And also pay money.
