I think Google is putting their eggs in one basket (Android) in preparation for them selling off chrome. They are already killing ChromeOS.

It was during this time the transition to 64 bit systems became necessary to deal with needing to have more than 4GB of memory which was not helped by Vista using 2GB just to run, iirc. If you ran Vista 32 bit you had memory problems. If you ran Vista 64 bit you had major compatibility problems. It wasn’t until the end of Vista’s life did 64 bit go mainstream.

I was done with Windows when the spying and built in advertising. Poor design decisions are one thing, but untrustworthy untoward actions to the user are another. The last shred of trustworthiness Micro$oft had in my eyes was was being mostly straight in Windows instead of the shady and underhanded shit. I wish I was old enough to have access to install NT on the family compute at the time. My aunt and uncle had ME and it was bad enough that i knew to keep it off my family’s machine. Instead I stuck with 98 SE until XP and it gave me an excuse to build a new machine at the same time.

I have a feeling this is where the suburban and rural grids are going. Dense urban areas are likely still going to need power produced off site.

What I’m more interested in will be farms in whether they’ll stay traditional producing food or convert solar farms where food production is not the main focus (see the hops farming solar panels for example).

At this point I think people have been babied about technology long enough. It’s time people learned just a little bit about how to handle technology so that it doesn’t look like voodoo black magic anytime you do something more basic than opening YouTube and getting cat videos.

My Bolt EUV uses automatic transmission fluid in the transfer case to reduce the RPMs of the motor to the wheels. Traditionally ATF is refined from crude, but you can use a synthetic replacement. As far as I know it doesn’t have any grease fittings either, so it’s all sealed in on bearings and the like. Don’t get me wrong though, it’s a massive reduction in petroleum usage though.

It needs to be replaced. It’s about 15,000 pages past life expectancy

Not OP, but middle America resident here. Family vacationed in my Bolt EUV 2023 to Florida and had to plan activities at most of my charge stops because of how slow it DC fast charges (50kw). Mostly meals, but locating museums and other stuff wasn’t to hard. CCS network is not good, but it’s good enough with the right planning. Yeah road trips aren’t ideal in the Bolt, but since Ford didn’t make but 15 base model F-150 Lightnings and I wasn’t paying $30,000 over MSRP for 1 of 3 trucks in stock East of the Mississippi, I bought the Bolt instead planning to put my daughter in it when she’s ready to drive. I would’ve preferred utility and faster DC charging, but had to make do with what was available. Road tripping in a Tesla would be much easier and quicker.

Before you ask, no you can’t buy the base model Lightning direct from Ford. You can all other trims though.

That’s usually my way to evaluate if a government should have a power. I ask myself if the other side were in charge and had this power, would it be really bad? If the answer is yes, more than likely the government shouldn’t have that power.

As far as answering your question, you can run a transformer, but new construction and new appliances will likely be built with DC service in mind.
