I mention software freedom whenever I can.

Prolong your browser for as long as necessary and explore the possibility of using the internet without any web browsers. Firefox is a last stand of competition, and without choice there might as well not be browsers at all.
Is it wise to have such a complex everything-app with no end in sight? (more like, no end in site)
To be at fault the user would have to know the AI creation they distributed commits copyright infringement. How can you tell? Is everyone doing months of research to be vaguely sure it’s not like someone else’s work?
Even if you had an AI trained on only public domain assets you could still end up putting in the words that generate something copyrighted.
Companies created a random copyright infringement tool for users to randomly infringe copyright.
It may be possible to convince them to offer that another way, if you care about software freedom and they care about what you value.
Google Pay support
I can not comprehend this. Ditching Google is why I yearn for alternatives to stock Android.
Sick of my Corsair keyboard having a Windows keycap now.
Words matter not if understand you.
Is Androit Auto proprietary? Does it depend on Google services (beyond GoogleMaps)?
I don’t consider “internet piracy” as stealing because it is copying. In an age where it is easy for anyone to copy then expectation to have a temporary monopoly on distribution as if it were physical goods is unintelligible.
The point is “voluntarily” is more nuanced than merely people agreeing to it. I consider people free to choose when Spotify would get laughed at every single time. Instead it’s sometimes an offer you can’t refuse, either out of desperation or because they are ignorant of how they are being exploited.
Is it safe to assume a significant portion of creators are in that threshold? 3-5 dolors from a lot of people for the biggest company in music streaming. I think Spoity nickel and diming a bunch of smaller creators is the real financial problem.
To determine where you draw the line I make small steps towards Spoity. If a Mafia gang member spells it out that you need to pay X every month or else while you live in this town, is it theft? You can just move away, do you have the power?
I believe my comment above was removed for the Oblivion guard line where if you are caught stealing you must pay a fine go to jail and if you refuse then you will be struck down. He does this even if you take something of little value. We all start earning at a low threshold for our creative works, those 3-5 dolors may be more important to them than you appear to value them. To me it’s more important than taking 1000 from a big creator…
Spotify can’t tell big fish to go unpaid but they can target small creators as they’re likely the ones who most need to be paid for their work. “Work for me for free and maybe I’ll pay you in the future” is lame but consider the small print says “we may stop paying you in the future if you fall below a change in threshold in the future”.
People say “internet piracy” is theft and that doesn’t even deprive the person of a thing they had, merely a strongly assumed “lost sale”. We know the creators had a sale because Spotify do this to make money earned by the works.
If I said I will donate money you give me to charity but I instead keep the money did you give it to me “voluntarily”? Probably not because you were deceived.
Have you considered the power imbalance when you describe them as voluntarily putting it on Spotify? What are your views on “paying people in exposure” or unpaid internships?
Deleted my account but end making another just for … (work-safe material, if you work in it). Maybe it actually hasn’t changed due to the protest but it seems worse. Maybe it’s just changed as those people moved to … (if you don’t use water cooling in your computer you would use)
Roses are in, violets are out, perhaps this is such creative, but I have much doubt.
Work by tabular. License: CC BY-SA 4.0
I don’t recall agreeing to terms like that but at the end of the day they don’t have to host any posts. If I thought they banned posting works with our choice of license that would be a red flag for me.
Sadly it seems licenses can be ignored when used for machine learning, it’s only if they end up reposting copyrighted material rather exactly.
If it’s a creative work then you get the Copyright on it, and can release it as you like. The work must meet a required level of creativity to qualify.
If people want to try and license their posts, why would instance owner care?
A warranty is supposed to be if it is faulty then they offer to replace it (and depending on the country these stipulation about using 3rd party chargers may not be enforceable, or illegal). Nintendo needs to prove you damaged the hardware under abnormal conditions, not using a spec charger in perfectly working order.

Been waiting for a good deal to replace my rx480 in my sister’s rig. I think they announced rx400/500/vega GPUs will only get security driver updates now and only for a while, I assume that applies to Linux too. RX580 will play many games at 1080p 60fpd but not the modern demanding ones (maybe not even at low settings).
Rumors say nextgen AMD isn’t targeting high end, maybe we have another 480 price to performance king 🤞. Then again, with AI as the new crypto, who can say.
When the users are in control of the software running on their devices then “EOL” is dependent the user community’s willingness to work on it themselves.
