. Even if using GLib from Rust is a pain, GTK can and does have decent Rust bindings.
QT on the other hand is C++ with object oriented stuff, and therefore cannot have easy bindings to Rust.

That’s why I avoid relying on instances maintained by this type of people and instance gravitate around instances hosted by non-profits I know and trust.
Where I am in France there are multiple very friendly non-profits that are centered around Free software and how digital technologies affect our freedom, who’ve shown to be very open-minded and responsible.
All this drama happened on Mastodon. While user migration is a great feature to have for users, it won’t solve this kind of issues.

I know that Asahi Linux uses Rust for its graphics driver but I don’t think it has been upstream yet.
I think it’s especially about Rust in the Linux kernel. There was a lot of fuss as the “foundation” for writing Rust drivers was merged, but since then there has been cvery few news about it going forward and being used to develop new drivers.
The language itself is obviously still going very strong.
The issue is mostly not about paying for the info, but rather about how to obtain said info without collecting location data of all users in an intrusive way like Google does.
There is already an unlimited subscription for TGV, which costs more than 800€ per month.
The German pass does not include ICE (InterCity Express, the TGV equivalent). It would make no sense economically.
