Yikes. this isn’t giving off the vibe you think it is my dogg
Be critical and discerning when faced with a site you’re unfamiliar with = smart and good
Automatically dismissing sites you’re unfamiliar with sans research or reasoning = bad and wrong.
This is not meant to imply that you are doing either of those things mind you, I’m just making clear the difference. It’s an incredibly, increasingly important one in times (like this current time) where truth and trusted sources are so very hard to come by.
Sounds like the hot-potato-voter-shame-game is making the rounds again. If only the DNC put in half as much work getting elected as they do shifting blame, or its true-believers held the DNC half as accountable as the country’s voters.
Booooo joke ruiner booooo
it’s all good
I’m glad to hear zombo resisted enshittification
oh yeah and what about about the “because you watched” section of hilariously off-base suggestions! (which is probably really just a disguised point 1 of your post)
like the other poster said it doesnt give you access to amazon’s shows on amazon’s site. Helpful pirates all over the world tirelessly upload “amazon’s” content to the grand line. When I tell people about a show I’m loving it’s always an interesting conversation when they ask me ‘what service is it on?’ and i straight up have no idea.
perhaps you already know this, but if you don’t, MOST pirate streaming sites have everything from every service right there in a searchable webpage that looks like (usually a discount version but sometimes superior) a paid streaming site.
It’s not even cope to say they are generally easier to navigate and search than the services you have to PAY for. All you need is ublock origin <—(non-negotiable) and you have access to a superior service IMMEDIATELY.
We cynics predict the other players will follow suit, acting as a cartel. The prices will remain inflated, and media covering the price rise will blithely repeat industry talking points as fact. A few keyboard warriors will be convinced enough to point to these articles in online arguments. Someone somewhere types “supply and demand” unironically.
Maybe a few years down the line there will be an investigation when a whistleblower forces some government in europe to appear as if they’re doing something. The trial will last longer than the media coverage of it.
After that, we predict a settlement that costs less than the profits they made colluding to inflate prices. Someone somewhere types “cost of doing business”
Yaknow, i guess i get why people feel like it is hopeless to try to change the world, that trying to stand up against powerful corporations is useless, to "force their hand"impossible. and that’s because it is.
But i feel that is missing the point. When you tell a company that they need to treat you a certain way or you leave, and then you follow through, you win. Forget a large company, when in this life can you ever force anyone to treat you right? You can’t.
You tell em what they can do to keep your around, and if they don’t, you take your self respect with your on the way out the door, and your life, the one that matters, is improved, and the next step in ending that bad relationship is no longer caring who else they might be seeing.
I for one am happy with you cats. Me n reddit are quits
Ugh, why did this description take me there? I can smell it
But the main problem is that the glasses don’t do much we can’t already do with phones.
This is enough to tell me they’re not going to catch on. But even if they did somehow, i think it would be a short fad. I mean that meta et al would not be able to stop themselves from turning the glasses away from useful things and towards just being another ad serving platform.
So what you kinda tried to say without saying just now was that your data refutes my point. Before i waste time playing with you on a topic i felt done with yesterday im gonna make you commit more. Is that what you are saying? That your data, february 23 to today wage growth vs inflation, refutes the points ive made yesterday about massaged data being used to misrepresent reality? And this data shows me that the increased actual cost of living has been for 10 months outstripped by wage increases for Americans across the board? I need to know what you mean, precisely.
He has money. Unless that list shows he stole money from another richie he’ll be just fine. Too bad
I hope they get one! Everyone deserves a little something nice

And he responded. Are those the end of your argument? Because as other poster said, statistics can be used to lie just as well as inform. You are familiar with this, correct?
If you have the stomach for getting in to the nitty gritty, pick one of your metrics and ill explain patiently why theyre bullshit.
“fool! If you knew economics better you’d understand that your buying power is the wrongest metric. Look at the stonks you uncultured swine!”
-a super smart economist, probably
I love the the artists’ sense of humor and wonder. Regardless of the sexiness those two look at the world with different eyes than me and i think they’re cool as hell.
Boring time! I have been following them since before oglaf and the only thing i dislike is how they’ll just drop a long-form story. They do their main characters dirty i tells ya
Because i liked the story and couldn’t let go it was gone I made a headcanon that the protagonist in their original comic (platinum grit) who fell thru the earth on the last update was the same guy who appears in comic 1 of OGLAF and was an oft-recurring character, only for them to put him in a coma years ago and never return to his story aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa why you do this MacConnor did nothing wrong!!
