Do you have any advice on getting started with contributing to this sort of thing? I have some rudimentary coding experience, but none on app development, which seems a bit daunting.

I’m hesitant to ask more of an already generous (and overworked) volunteer dev, but it would be nice to have more frequent updates on what features are currently being worked on.

Might it be possible for @bazsalanszky@lemmy.toldi.eu to give us a sneak peek at what is to come, or a (tentative) timeline or sequence for upcoming releases?

Isn’t one of the benefits of federation that content is backed up in multiple places?

The Hello Internet community was tiny and not very active, so it’s no big deal to start over from scratch, but it might be worth looking into for some of the larger communities which had compiled large quantities of information.

What happens to the accounts and communities that were on feddit.uk? I made an account there to create !hellointernet@feddit.uk, but I spend most of my time on sh.itjust.works. Are there any tools to move existing content from the old site to the new site in a (somewhat) cohesive manner, or are we starting over from scratch?

No, the news here is that Richard Branson’s Hyperloop One company is shutting down. I don’t believe that is related to the Loop (not Hyperloop) project in Las Vegas.
