  • I always hear people complaining about “those kids” but I just don’t see it at the gym I go to, other than like the occasional mirror selfie. Maybe it’s just because the gym I go to isn’t the type to attract influencers?

But also, recording yourself lift is a great way to see things that you’re doing wrong that you wouldn’t otherwise notice

  • I graduated from a public research university in the US not too long ago, where a bit over 20% of undergraduates were international students from China. Talking to coworkers, it seems this is fairly common in schools across the country.

It seems like China now has the same “top-heaviness” problem we have. Too many people were forced to go to college by their parents, to get a degree in something, anything, and now we have a bunch of unemployed people with degrees AND a bunch of openings for important jobs that they’re “overqualified” for

Never owned a chromebook but generally, I think PWAs are best for services where you find the web version satisfactory (e.g. Discord if you’re not sharing your screen) or when the native app is just going to present you with the web version in a native window (e.g. Outlook nowadays).

Native apps are generally the better option for applications that make heavy use of your computer’s special hardware like games, video editors, OBS, etc.

I tried GNOME for all but three minutes until I found out that you could be scrolling along with your mouse wheel and oop, a slider suddenly appears under your cursor, steals focus, and now your mouse wheel is moving the slider before you can notice where it used to be.

What an awful default choice for UI/UX behavior.
