I have a peculiar set of skills.

Yeah I’m really curious where the difficulty lies. Nextcloud was one of the earliest, if not the first, services that I deployed on a server when learning about Linux/Docker from scratch. The evolution of my setup has mostly been through my better understanding of container management practices than through anything Nextcloud specific.

My only Nextcloud specific issue has to do with the implementation of a reverse proxy (NPM) breaking the ability for my Nextcloud and OnlyOffice containers ability to connect - and I’ve not been so fixed about it that I haven’t really sat down trying to figure a fix.

Why can’t it be both?

I’ve kept coming back to Voyager. The main draw is the functionality marking posts read on scroll, hiding read posts, and otherwise being feature complete (nothing broken as far as I can tell, and is keeps up with Lemmy updates).

I came to explore Lemmy with the migration after Reddit’s API changes. Baconreader was my app of choice, and it died with the change.

I didn’t have any anger against Reddit - there was no righteous “fuck you!” in my actions - but the reason I stayed on Lemmy and very rarely touch Reddit is because the concept of the fediverse really speaks to me. I want to see a more decentralized internet succeed and so that is where I will spend my time, niche as it is.

From 2020 I planned on building a new gaming PC. Bought an ITX case and followed hardware releases closely… And then got disillusioned with it all.

Picked up a Steam Deck in August of 2022 and couldn’t be happier with it. The ITX case is collecting dust.

I believe polycentric is built in as an optional comment system in Grayjay. Beyond that, I don’t know what purpose it serves. (Don’t know what Nostr is so that comparison didn’t help me)

I used a Kindle, but get the lion’s share of my ebooks from Anna’s archive. Books are often delivered to my Kindle through the email to Kindle service.

I have no illusions that every single book I read is fed through Amazon’s data machine. The Kindle estimates the time to completion of a book based on your reading speed - everything that it could possibly interpolated from your reading… Will be. And you can bet it will be sold, or at the very least advertised to you on Amazon.

If set up PowerToys, you can enable that behaviour universally.

Aves Libre is already a far better gallery that you should be using even if this wasn’t happening.

Aves gallery is fantastic, far better than Simple Gallery.

No one is asking the question because the option is there.

I’m Immich, find a file that has an empty cloud icon (indicates a file on the server and not on your phone). The top bar shows 4 icons: heart, cloud with a down arrow inside it, plus sign, and info circle.

Click the cloud with the down arrow inside it to sync to your device.

Alternatively, the bottom bar also has your OS share button which offers another multitude of ways to download and send the photo.
