Is he (or ANYONE else for that matter) really under the impression that he had any effect on the election one way or the other? That’s the biggest sign of arrogance right there.

Exactly. That’s why I wanna get him hooked on the show before bringing that up.

Although we just finished Code of Honor, which is a low point for this show. But it’s out of the way early, so it’s all uphill from here.

I had this same question come up recently.

A friend of mine was out of town in a store that has a lot of entire series on BD or DVD (as well as movies of course), and he knew I was constantly referencing Star Trek, and he asked where he should start.

I didn’t have much time to think since he was already in the store and had limited time. All things considered, I went with TNG as the perfect spot to start.

He’s someone I used to work with a few years ago, and we play games together a lot. Knowing him (and just younger people in general), TOS would be so hard to watch with how dated it is. If not just the sexist and racist parts, then even for me it’s hard to look at given how LCARS showed up and instantly made all the technology look immediately centuries behind.

But ever since then, it’s looked mostly the same. At least until SNW and Disco. So I told him as much as I felt I could without boring him about where it’s set in relation to the original show. 6 movies and 3 and a half series in, if I counted correctly.

But if he ends up being interested, I’ll have him go through the other 2 golden era shows before going back for TOS.

Except I will have him watch the Tribble episode before he watches the DS9 episode about it.

He already had a small knowledge of it, the basic identity of who Kirk and Spock were, and the idea that it is a multi-show and many movie kinda franchise (I guess like a STU, which is MCU but for ST)

Not really. He would actually have to have a universe out there in the multiverse where he does win for this to be a factor. He doesn’t win even a 1,000th of any single city (even if you counted country wide total as votes in one city) in this universe though.

Is that supposed to be a consequence people take seriously?

Tell me you want to lose an election without telling me. Clearly you’re only in it to make the number of people trump beat higher. Actively does not want to win.

I don’t see the downside to this in particular.

Wake me up when a state that matters (as in, a state that will have an impact on the likelihood of Trump getting to and winning the general election) does it.

I’m not convinced a red state would dare put their metaphorical balls on the chopping block like that.

I basically did back in like 2014. My accounts still existed, so I finally closed out the big 3 in October. I hadn’t used them in years, but they were still there

I got next door, but only care about it as far as looking out for potential missing pets. I live in a fairly red area, and everyone is middle-aged on there, and everything I saw was super conservative people, and some hate for anything mentioning the possibility of non straight people.

I mean they’re seemingly not dangerous, but the way they run their own country still earns this treatment. And they need to be killed twice if they do become dangerous.
