Employers are increasingly using the workplace to advance their political (and religious) interests, and the lack of legal protections for workers has created a situation ripe for coercion.

    I helped lead an organizing campaign at my nonprofit a few years ago. After 18 exhausting months we had 70% support from staff. Right before the election management forced everyone to attend “information meetings.” It only took 3 meetings for staff to get scared, and we lost the election with only 43% support. It’s probably the most depressing thing I’ve ever experienced.
