If Trump loses the nomination he’ll simply return to Mar-a-Lago and ‘carp and moan and complain,’ said Christie

Chris Christie doesn’t expect Donald Trump to concede if he loses any primary election.

The former New Jersey governor was discussing focusing his campaign efforts on New Hampshire with Jonathan Karl on “This Week” when he was asked if he believes Trump would concede in a primary he loses.

“I don’t care,” Christie responded.

He explained “no one will expect” Trump to concede based on the fact that he still hasn’t publicly admitted he lost the 2020 presidential election — or given up his unfounded claims of widespread election fraud.

I agree but it wasn’t that long ago that all these asshats were slobbing on his knob. You don’t get to help create a modern day Hitler and then when it’s convenient come out like you were always Anti Hitler. I’m happy for you that it’s suddenly beneficial to barely do the right thing but you shouldn’t be celebrated for shit.

I know you’re not celebrating him specifically but it seems that’s what the media is focusing on. Fuck all these traitors. Being the best traitorous anti American fuckboy isn’t quite the win one would think it is.

It doesn’t matter. He has no chance of winning anything. Regardless of the shitty things he’s done, I appreciate that he’s calling out Trump now. Republican voters need to hear it from Republicans and I don’t really care how the media paints Christie as long as they deliver the message. Trump is a bigger threat than ever. Most candidates either support him or tiptoe around without acknowledging how dangerous he is. We need someone to take him head on. Frankly, it’s better when those people are former supporters who got to see things up close.

DeSantis is a POS. I live in his state. He’s a racist fuck and he hates LGBT people. The schools here barely have any books in the libraries and now there is new curriculum teaching that black people benefited from slavery. He is deranged.

Ramaswamy is another scumbag. I can’t say whether he’s worse than DeSantis. He might be. He certainly doesn’t believe in the same kind of America most of us do.

Unfortunately, the nominee is going to be one of this pitiful bunch of assholes. Personally, I think Haley is the least toxic, although that’s not saying much. I just don’t want Trump, DeSantis or Ramaswamy.

So you’d prefer to keep this divide going? If once supporting Trump is unforgivable, then push will come to shove at some point because there’s still millions that think or thought Trump was a stand up guy.

What’s the best case scenario you see for current and previous Trump supporters?

Current? There is no best case. They have seen all the evidence and believe no matter what he is the chosen one. It’s delusion and suicide cult behavior.

As for former? I think that’s relative. I know people who voted for Trump because they thought he was someone and he turned out to be someone else. Yes it’s a little silly that they couldn’t see he was exactly who he presented himself as. But that I can mostly forgive if you are repentant.

If you schemed at the highest levels of government to protect him and spent years defending him with each mounting crime? No. Go fuck yourself. You should be next in line behind him to go to jail. Of course that won’t happen. But I’ll be damned if I’ll ever accept any reality where those sorts can pretend like nothing bad happened and all is well.

In a perfect world all these people would get voted out. Best case for me is they simply get relegated to a small minority in government that ceases to have any real power.

It’s not a revelation or anything. Trump still hasn’t conceded 2020.

I hate that Christie has become the voice of reason, but I guess that’s where we are. Christie stating the blatantly obvious makes him a radical in the GOP. We could probably get infinite energy by harvesting the spin in McCain’s grave.

I wish that when they mention Trump, that they also mentioned that he is liable for sexual assault, fraud and under indictment for (list all the charges in this space). A responsible press would make sure their readers had all the facts each time.

I like Biden a lot more than I expected to when I voted for him, but the reason he got so many more votes than any previous candidate in history isn’t simply because he’s that good. The reason people showed up to the polls was to get rid of Trump.

I think the Democrat politicians also want to keep Trump in the news because they believe that Trump winning the nomination and also being convicted and imprisoned gives them the best chance of winning next year.

      It’s a dangerous game they’re playing.

Um…you might want to pay more attention. Trump is either very close or outright leading in the polls.

The Trump people stopped reading mainstream articles a long time ago. If ABC, NBC, and CBS all stopped talking about him, the Fox / Newsmax people would never know.

Betting odds are not generally a reliable indicator of outcomes, because they are typically set based on the bets that have been received to ensure that, no matter what the outcome is, the house wins. While generally speaking, bettors will place bets according to what they think the most likely outcome is, making odds an OK proxy for crowd-sourcing opinions, there will be systematic bias which throws things off.

But you know he’s not going to lose any primaries. He could be convicted and in jail, and he’s still beat them. It’s the state of the GOP and the electorate that they have wrought. Carefully and purposely, it has taken years to craft, but now they must live with the monster they have fabricated.

I don’t agree. I think that’s what they wanted, yes. What they got was far from a mob that does their bidding. They do his bidding and he does things in his interest alone.

Look at the other primary candidates trying to be the best imitation of him. They even have an Indian guy spitting random hate. It would make for hilarious satire if it wasn’t reality.

Any sensible conservatives left the party long ago. Those with some sense left vote out of spite against the Democrats, but even they are waning in that support.

That party is in chaos and he does well in that setting.

They got exactly what they wanted. An unruly mob that will not listen to reality and can be pushed in almost any direction the right operative can push them in. Once Trump is actually gone (the worst of us never seem to die) it will be a dangerous time for us as an actual “intelligent” manipulator will jump in and take them for another ride, but he’ll have a destination in mind other than “fill my bank account.”
