    And unless you live in the like five places in the US where not having a vehicle is even possible you’re screwed. I hate! Having to depend on my car for everything. I don’t make enough money to have a reliable vehicle so every day it’s nerve racking whenever the car makes a unfamiliar sound, or takes too long to start.

      even with public transportation, in the west its already in jeopardy because we have a budget problem and our city is planning to cutback a ton of services. by summer time, because in the last few years since covid protocols was lifted they have been ramping up citations violaitons to compensate for the loss.

      I just got back from Atlanta, Georgia, and holy shit I almost forgot how bad road infrastructure could be. 5 blocks from a grocery store and it’s basically illegal to walk to it. There technically are crosswalks, but no sidewalk to get to them. The funniest part is the traffic is significantly worse than similar city populations because most of the intersections are high risk high speed crossings.

        No sidewalk getting to Target across the street from our hotel when visiting family in the midwest. Death walk.
