I have to say, I suspected this. Being honest. I said to myself, “What could run off Stamets,” and that’s exactly what I came up with.

Yeah and I didn’t want to be “petty” and start shit but honestly the behavior is getting actively worse and I’m sick of pretending like shitty behavior isn’t the precise reason why I left.

A group of people claiming that they have some divine or superior right to land while exterminating those who don’t believe in what they believe in. Rounding up people and putting them into camps only to kill them anyway. Exterminating hostages. Committing untold war crimes and crimes against humanity. Separating civilians based off of religious beliefs and punishing them because they do not line up with yours. Creating giant open air prisons where people are expected to live out the rest of their lives and where they’re killed for the slightest provocation. A military force that is using any reason it can, all weak as hell, to continue to murder people who had already surrendered.

Likud is another word for Nazi. The Israeli Government copied their papers and changed Aryan to Jewish and then used it as a fucking framework.

You will not. It is the reason I stopped posting to /c/Risa and set up my own community on lemmy.world. I went to talk to the admins and they didn’t give a shit either. Everyone is more than happy to allow the moderator of this community to run it however he sees fit. The problem is that his vision of “fit” is not much different than any basic reddit subreddit I’ve seen. Check his posting behavior. Dude actively insults people he’s talking to at every chance he gets, acts like he’s in total control of what Risa should be, and generally doesn’t seem like a nice person to be around. Combine that with the private messages I’ve gotten from him and the only conclusion I’ve been able to come to is that the lead mod of this community is abusing his position, does not believe in the basic tenents of both Lemmy and Star Trek, and will never change. The admins are also perfectly fine keeping this the status quo. The option that they floated when I brought it up was frankly offensive.

Now you know why I sprinted from this instance and this community. Why should I help this community keep going when the people running it do not believe in that community?

And now you know why I stopped posting to Risa. There is no consistency as to what gets removed. On top of that, the only active moderator seems to routinely abuse his position by removing stuff that has no reason to be removed. Combine that with the really hostile and toxic behavior from that mod I just outright abandoned this community. I’ve reported stuff and instead of asking for clarification he came in my messages really hot and hostile. “Reddit” type behavior is not something I’m a fan of.

Why should I bother trying to help this grow and be a positive place when the dude running it seems to believe it’s his own personal fiefdom?

I mean I wouldn’t say it’s all Paradox games. Surviving Mars and Cities Skylines (1 at least) are both pretty intuitive from the get go. Same with Surviving the Aftermath. Stellaris is just on a whole fucking other level.

I have no idea how many hours I have in Stellaris off hand. It’s the console version, not the PC version and I know there are differences but none so extreme as to make my experiences so meh. I took over the galaxy once with a Terran like empire and just systematically destroyed everything in my way but every other playthrough I’ve done just ends up being too confusing and too overwhelming too quickly and it spirals rapidly out of control. I played the multiplayer with a buddy and he was trying to explain stuff to me and I felt brain-dead. I couldn’t grasp why things were connected. That was my main issue I think. Just not understanding how all the things were plugged into each other. I could track individual stuff, love me some resource management, but there were too many things that all depended on each other in 15 different ways and it felt like a feedback loop of changing one thing fucked everything else up and I just gave up.

Not saying the game is bad for the record. Just bad for me. Infinite I can see the connections easier. Still clunky for me but more intuitive I suppose.

That would be it. There’s a new Trek show that has some gay characters, a lesbian, a non-binary character and a trans character. People got bitter as hell and started attacking the show over those specific characters. And i don’t mean criticising. I mean attacking. Him being the creator of star trek community on lemmy.world was the sole reason I never posted there. Even tried to help him out once and he got self righteous and said he didn’t need my help and I’ve been assuming its because I have the same name as one of those gay characters I mentioned. The one who gets complained about the most.

I’m ass at making logos. The tumblr one and the star trek memes ones I made but that’s taking existing stuff and adding/removing to suit my needs. I’d do a horrendous job. But I’m all the way down to support the contest!
