  • Exactly. The “love thy enemy” nonsense always got me too:

Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you

    • Mathew 5:44

Think about slavery in history. Christianity was forced upon slaves in US history. Think about current era people working horrible conditions, factories, sweatshops, whatever. What a CONVENIENT verse for the slave owners.

Just be good, do what you’re told, don’t fight back, and love your enemy (exploiter/persecuter). If you do, promise of heaven like you said.

But if you disobey (commit murder, dare I say of the person exploiting you), infinite and eternal torture and suffering in hell.

Also don’t commit suicide, that’s a sin too so straight to hell if you do.

    Its just so fucking obvious.

  • Almost completely unaware of how to solve the problems meaningfully.

Disillusioned with the legal voting process as being completely ineffectual to solve the problems, or any important problem for that matter. Our politics feels like more of a distraction than anything.

Way too depressed and overworked and burnt out to try to think/work on any actual meaningful way to solve these extremely substantial and challenging problems.

So unfortunately, I just live one day at a time, enjoy the little things, and wait until it’s time to die.

I honestly don’t think we’re going to get any meaningful change without extreme violence, extreme longterm hardship, and lots and lots of death and pain. But what do I know?

  • “The cruelty is the point.”

I see this phrase often, and I disagree with it and I’m not sure why people keep repeating it.

Cruelty: inflicting pain on others. This is not the point at all. They don’t wake up every morning and say “how can I cause more pain” on individuals or the general populace.

They are almost completely indifferent to the suffering of others that they cause. They are simply greedy and selfish, they want all the money and power, so they can have it all to themselves. Fucking over everyone else is just the process to get and keep what they want. This is my opinion at least.

“Cruelty is the point” is just silly, and absolutely wrong. I also feel like it misdirects talking about the true motive, which I think is mostly greed and selfishness. Cruelty is just a side affect they don’t care about.
