I wouldn’t doubt overbearing parents would fit on that list quite nicely too

Interesting how they never say how much real money gold and upvotes are worth to these contributors
Google calendar events can be synced through the Apple calendar and at least for me by default have reminders set 30 minutes before. I have my account set up through the mail app, but to check this do the following:
Go to Settings -> Calendar -> Accounts -> Gmail. Make sure it’s set to sync your calendar. There’s also the ability to add an account here. Then go back to the calendar app and find an event to check if reminders are set.
It’s 512GB of ssd cache plus 128GB of ram, so for now that’s been enough
You might try adding a cache drive instead. It can help lessen the memory usage zfs needs to maintain speed. My server is spinning rust with an ssd drive attached to the pool as cache.
Command would be “zpool add pool_name cache /dev/sdX” where pool_name is the pool you want the cache on, and /dev/sdX is the empty drive you want to use with it (or partition). Make sure to encrypt this drive before setting this up, my knowledge is zfs doesn’t do that for you.
see here for a bit more information on caching.
T-mobile was doing this in the US but only blocking certain ports when talking to my home server, might try putting it on a non-standard port as well and see if you can access the service then.
I think he’s talking about this, but it’s very clearly just a normal fundraising pitch that doesn’t even hint at a current issue with funding.
Gotcha on the forwarding, my issue with rdp forwarding is I want a server like xrdp, so users don’t need to be logged in locally, which I haven’t seen googling yet.
This honestly still feels premature for a server based OS. I rely on x forwarding and an rdp server for some tasks, and as far as I know Wayland still doesn’t really have support for either of those.
I had a samba issue a while back where the underlying file system started my user didn’t have permission to edit it. It still showed as my user on the vm but didn’t let me edit files. It might be worth checking the owner on the original file system, as well as permissions.
I haven’t used windows regularly since windows vista, is there an actual difference between those two version in performance?
Even if you take his statement as true it’s essentially arguing that historically genocides have happened and therefore Israel should get free rein to do one.
Outside of the kennel a reboot is not necessary you just restart the app/service it’s really not rocket science.
I just keep an encrypted hard drive at work and bring it home to sync once a month/sooner if there’s a bunch of vacation photos we just added to the server or something. External hard drives are cheap nowadays
Fun fact: they used to line the wind chests that held the pressurized air and pipes with asbestos until around the 1970s… so yeah you can technically get cancer from pipe organs.
I know you the author doesn’t seem to want to hear about Home Assistant, but it does have the HomeKit integration they want and you have the fine tuned control the want too!
pretty much, mozzarella sticks are basically just those, breaded and fried into a stick of delicious heart attack juice
We bought ours when it first came out after several terrible windows laptops. It still runs like new and there’s hasn’t been any need to consider upgrading (m1 air in our case). The biggest complaint is once or twice a year I need a usb c to an adapter for an old device or something.
