And yes, it’s profitable. No ones talking about maximising it and collecting more tax. But it’s a great example on how Americans think.
TheMurphy@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Moderna’s mRNA cancer vaccine works even better than thoughtEnglish4·2 years agoTrue, except the US doesn’t even do that. It’s your fault for getting cancer, so you pay yourself. :))
TheMurphy@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Moderna’s mRNA cancer vaccine works even better than thoughtEnglish271·2 years agoTrue. My point is that when healthcare is socialised, the government will be the one having to budget the cost/benefit.
Meaning a cure will always be the most profitable, meaning we will see this for all citizens fast.

TheMurphy@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Moderna’s mRNA cancer vaccine works even better than thoughtEnglish1474·2 years agoThis is amazing news for countries with free healthcare! Even though the vaccine is expensive, it’s nowhere as expensive as the care a cancer patient needs today.
Plus you can send a healthy individual back to their families and into society again.

So they artificially create a shortage to hike up the prices. Nice.

The problem is the DVDs is in a language I couldn’t find reliably to download. I once had access to a private tracker that had these things, but they got shut down, and I was on a long vacation while they migrated.
So I missed the window and I haven’t been able to get in since.

I’m asking here because some people may be uploading files themselves, and may have experience in compressing. And how to do it.
TheMurphy@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•MemoryCache, a Mozilla Innovation ProjectEnglish152·2 years agoThis thing sounds mostly like a way to explore the possibilities with AI. Which I’m all for.
It sounds like it will learn from what you do in your browser, and as we are humans and therefore have alot of habits, then we might find this tool useful!
That’s why it wasn’t passed “5 years ago”. Because it sucked too much.
USB-C doesn’t, and that’s why you could make the rule. Fuck your potential innovation on the cost of 1.000 tons e-waste a year.
You would think you would know, when you buy from AliExpress, which states specifically that it is shipping from OUTSIDE EU and is IMPORTING DIRECTLY.
It can’t really be any others fault but your own.

This post is about autonomous vehicles, which will render this concern obsolete.
This is being pushed back from 2030, so it’s not good news. Just a delay on the law.
