It’s a scam to make it more work than it needs to be because Florida lawmakers don’t want people to have power

Why do we treat the USPS like a business when it’s a government function specifically mentioned in the Constitution?

The USPS is currently the only government agency that pays for itself outright, and with prices that are still on the absolute floor of what is necessary.

The USPS does not need “propping up” - that is some conspiracy theory nonsense.

Because Republicans have indoctrinated their base for years with the topic of how the postal service is a business and must turn a profit to be useful or it should be gotten rid of in favor of a Cheaper, More Efficient™ private solution (That will do nothing but make it more costly and less efficient cause the only problem privatization has ever solved is how to funnel government money into donors pockets with the appearance of legitimacy)

Which is real bullshit considering how much money the american government hands out in corporate wellfare to anyone else.

Because the same people think “We ShOuLd RuN tHe CoUnTrY lIkE a BuSiNeSs.” We need to extract as much wealth and labor from its citizens until it starts to crumble then look for an acquisition.

Real talk? Education. I’d place money on many people not knowing this information and rather than look it up to confirm or deny their assumptions they live with a rather dense assurance and certainty.

But but but Florida is the new conservative utopia, how could this happen?

Boomers ruined that state for everyone.

Florida voted twice for Obama. Democrats need to get off their ass and vote. Maybe this will help.

Worth noting that this initiative still only protects the right to abortions up to fetal viability.

It’s still a conservative take on abortion rights - literally the former conservative position.
