US Muslim leaders who supported Republican Donald Trump to protest against the Biden administration’s support for Israel’s war on Gaza and attacks on Lebanon have been deeply disappointed by his cabinet picks, they tell Reuters.

“Trump won because of us and we’re not happy with his Secretary of State pick and others,” says Rabiul Chowdhury, a Philadelphia investor who chaired the Abandon Harris campaign in Pennsylvania and co-founded Muslims for Trump. Muslim support for Trump helped him win Michigan and may have factored into other swing state wins, strategists believe.

There won’t be planes, or deportations. There will only be caged slave laborers in concentration camps owned by his friends, with the government (read taxpayers) paying the rent month after month, year after year.

Concentration camps might be a bit hyperbolic, but that was actually a fairly accurate description of how private prisons manage to make a profit.

Except for a handful of states that passed legislation to prevent it, the 13th amendment makes an exception allowing involuntarily servitude as the punishment for committing crimes. If they manage to create a kangaroo court designed to be a revolving door of convictions for “illegal immigrants”, they absolutely could keep people effectively locked up as slaves for a while.

Whether Israel gets the weapons from America, Russia, South Africa, Britain, Korea, China or wherever. They are going to find a way to arm themselves and defend themselves. Decades of warfare against other countries pushes the Israelis to commit some pretty disgusting acts. Trying to blame an American political party on either side is not an intelligent response.

Spoken like someone that doesn’t understand how much their military depends upon American aid.

Edit: spoken also like someone that doesn’t know that the US stopped every Israeli war because unlike you Israel knows it can’t exist without free weapons from the US.

And before you say ‘military aid is a handout to US weapons manufacturers’, an argument I suspect you’re not knowledgeable enough to make, Israel is the exception to that because unlike EVERY other country in the world that receives US military aid, Israel receives half of the aid as pure money they get to spend with other countries.

So when you say they’d just get the weapons from other countries, you’re doubly wrong, because they wouldn’t have the money, our fucking money, to do so.

Have you learned anything yet, or is your racism against Arabic people so strong that nothing will penetrate your desire to justify genocide?

How does your nationality impact your utter ignorance of the percentage of weapons that Israel receives comes from America.

Great way to try and change the subject of your utter ignorance to one of your nationality, but you’re the only one bringing it up, and it’s perfectly clear to everyone reading what you’re doing. Oh, yeah, I almost forgot, you stooge. What a weird fucking insult to throw in there.

Also, if they want to defend themselves they should. Themselves. Oh, that’s right, they can’t.

Also, genocide is not self defense. Nor is apartheid or annexation.

Honestly, I think this is one reason why the disinformation networks - hate radio, Faux Nooz, the bro-ed up magaverse online, etc - is sooo effective.

It used to be socially painful to make stupid choices and to show fealty to really stupid things, like the Republican Party. Now, instead of these people having to go into a corner and nurse their wounds and maybe reflect, they flee into the irreality bubble these things provide, AND THEY ARE VALIDATED in there. They experience no painful shame, or at least not for very long.

See other post. I voted for Harris. I thought an insurrection was enough to convince the populate not to vote for a traitor and I was wrong.

Socially shaming people doesn’t all work. It made me NOT vote for Clinton in 2016. What made me vote for Biden in 2020 and Harris in 2024 is every thing that happened during Trumps presidency. I learned my lesson then.

Democrats’ attitudes at the time, much like the person calling Muslims dumb, was a big factor in me choosing not to vote for Clinton back then.

I’m trying to prevent that same thing happening to other people - especially a voting bloc that can sway my state.

There are paths to personal growth that don’t involve being a dick to others

They are cherry picking the specific words they respond to. Which is a classic loser argument tactic that is employed to try and achieve a holier than thou position. See if they can somehow twist your words around to make it sound like you are forcing words into their mouth then they can play the victim. Suddenly if they achieve victim status that means you don’t get to say mean things to them anymore. When really, socially shaming people does still work. There’s just a lot of “coddling” that happens in online social media groups that allows people to massage their feelings in such a way so that they feel empowered to continue holding the same DUMB view points that got them shamed in the first place.

Not sorry, stupid people need to be told they are stupid so they stop being stupid. Sometimes it means calling them out harshly. Get over it. Not everyone needs to be treated like a delicate flower that will wilt at the slightest disturbance. People are not made of sugar, crying won’t make them melt. We have an epidemic of stupidity spreading around the world. America is one of the worst places for it and people like you that cringe at calling out stupid are not helping solve the problem.

That’s what I believe as well. Far left social issues should not be at the forefront of the campaign. Majority of Hispanic people I spoke to said they voted for trump either because economy, or because they didn’t agree with the Dems stance on trans rights. I’m all for equality but there are more pressing matters than which bathroom a person can use or should trans people be allowed to compete in a certain sport. Let the state decide and move on. Stop alienating the majority of Americans for less than 5% of the population.

      Stop. Just stop.

It’s a post-truth world. Just…give up. We’re all yelling into the void. These people are being force-fed “facts” consisting of cherry picked data and sound bites from every angle imaginable. It’s their news. It’s their friends. It’s their family, and their neighbors. Their community leaders, and their social leaders, and their religious leaders. It’s in their face, constantly, everywhere they go.

You can’t compete with that. That’s brainwashing on a societal level.

You can’t both be right, and be victorious, in that environment. Simply because for the same amount of effort you put out expelling one falsehood, they can be exposed to a thousand more.

I give up. I have no more faith in humanity. People are proudly digging their heads into the sand to avoid hard truths and then act shocked when “I told you so”. Fuck them, and fuck me for having to go down with them. Fucking children. Fucking ostrich children fucks. Pitiful. Repugnant. Deplorable.

You’re blaming humanity for being the way that it simply is. The lesson is that people don’t have the time or attention to fact check, and frankly I think we should have known that. We got complacent. So, now those of us who get it have to step in and make better competing systems.

If facts are going to win, it seems they need to win stealthily, really like they always have. Science and engineering took over the world with probably less than 1% of people really having any idea how anything actually works. Objective morality in terms of universal human rights and behavioral science can be integrated into a better regulated social media, for example. It just has to be more appealing somehow and easier to access. It also has to be sexy and come with some status, and other benefits.

I have no idea what that looks like, but thst is the mission progressives now must contend with. We have to win back people’s attention and convince them ours is the better way for them.

Why bother to fact check any one thing when it means hunting for the single edible chocolate in a pile of rabbit shit?

You can’t even fucking Google an answer anymore, as the AI generated response is trained on all the bad data that’s bloated the system.

Gotcha. I hear ya. I guess what I’m saying is, in the same way capitalism has effectively produced an oligharchical coup-de-tat of society, in the same way progressivism needs to find a way to do the same, and do it better.

The modern Internet and information landscape has broken participatory democracy to the point I don’t think the truth can beat lies and misinformation, such that it could ever be the basis for most people’s vote.

Therefore, ironically I think we must leverage the same tools and techniques being used to spread lies and misinformation in service of the truth. That is play Donald Trump and the New Right’s game against them, and do it better.

“Weird” was almost that, but it was accidental. It wasn’t evidence of change in communication strategy by the Dems, sadly. We should be doing more of this. Constantly embarrassing and insulting Trump and his cronies, and making them look lost, weal, and out of control. Things like that. Selective truths intended to get an emotional populist response, and sustain it for four years.

                Also, Swift 2028 (lol)

      Oh lord +25 -2

Blatant lies sure are popular here.

Even your description of their promises are false.Trump was the one who invited Palestinians on stage when Harris shunned them.

Lol, no he didn’t, he literally said his policy was to give Nethanyu a blank check and in the first term he kept trying to use nukes and was told not to by his staff.

        Troll harder

PS: Kamela never shunned Palestinians either, Bill Clinton on the other hand…

All this time/effort organizing around him when a 5 minute Google search would have shown you he’d pledge unquestioning support for Netanyahu

Love the blaming of Muslims instead of the mass uninformed…
